Are you an almost Christian? What exactly is an almost Christian? How is an almost Christian different from an altogether Christian? Those are the questions John Wesley takes up in his sermon, "The Almost Christian," and those are the questions we're looking at in the latest video on the Theology Project YouTube Channel.
The really interesting thing about this sermon is that Wesley speaks from his own experience. After articulating what it means to be an almost Christian, he asks whether anyone could actually be an almost Christian. Then he answers that question by pointing to his own life prior to his Aldersgate experience. Wesley did all the right things, but he did them for all the wrong reasons.
